Version 1 Setember 2026

Free Grooming Appointment Terms

1. Introduction and Scope

These Free Grooming Appointment Terms (“Terms”) apply to all free grooming appointments (each an “Appointment” and collectively the “Appointments”) provided by Ieva Cieminyte (“I,” “me,” “my,” or the “Groomer”) and booked through www.coatedit.com (“Website”) or via telephone or WhatsApp and subsequently confirmed by the Groomer.

By requesting, booking or attending a grooming appointment, you (“you,” “your,” or the “Owner”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

Where an Appointment is booked on behalf of another person, the person submitting or confirming the booking confirms that they are authorised to accept these Terms on behalf of the Owner.For the avoidance of doubt, attendance at an Appointment constitutes acceptance of these Terms even where the Appointment was not booked through the Website.

2. Eligibility and Dog Size

The Groomer currently accepts small and medium-sized dogs weighing up to 15 kg only.

The Groomer reserves the right to refuse or discontinue any Appointment where a dog does not meet this requirement or where, for safety, welfare or practical reasons, the Groomer is unable to provide the grooming service safely and appropriately.

3. Booking and Confirmation

A submission of a Request to Book a Free Appointment via the Website or requested through WhatsApp/text or otherwise does not constitute a confirmed Appointment. An Appointment is confirmed only once the Groomer has expressly confirmed it to the Owner. The Groomer may request additional information about the Owner or dog before confirming an Appointment.

The Groomer reserves the right to decline an Appointment request where the dog or requested groom does not fall within the scope of the Appointments currently offered or where the Groomer reasonably considers that the Appointment cannot be safely or appropriately provided.

The Owner is responsible for ensuring that all information provided during the booking process is accurate, complete and up to date.

4. Appointment Duration

Depending on the dog's breed, coat type and the groom required, the Groomer may need up to approximately 5 hours to complete the groom.

The expected duration may vary depending on the individual dog, including its coat condition, behaviour and tolerance of the grooming process.

The Owner will be informed of the Groomer's estimated duration for the Appointment at drop-off. The Groomer will endeavour to inform the Owner approximately 30 minutes before completion by text message, WhatsApp message and/or telephone call.Any estimated duration communicated by the Groomer is an estimate only and may change where reasonably necessary in light of the dog's individual circumstances during the Appointment.

If a dog becomes tired or stressed during the Appointment, the Groomer will prioritise the dog's wellbeing and completing the groom appropriately over spending additional perfecting the groom.

5. Equipment, Hygiene and Sanitation

The Groomer uses professional grooming equipment, tools and products appropriate for the grooming services.

Grooming equipment and tools are cleaned and disinfected between Appointments in accordance with standard hygiene practices and procedures and as reasonably appropriate to the equipment and its intended use. The Groomer also takes reasonable hygiene and sanitation measures in relation to the grooming environment between Appointments.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Groomer cannot guarantee that all risks of exposure to bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi or other infectious agents can be completely eliminated.

The Owner acknowledges that grooming involves contact with the grooming environment, equipment and other materials that may previously have been used in connection with other dogs, despite cleaning and disinfection procedures.

6. Coat Condition and Matting

The Groomer is currently unable to accept cases of severe coat neglect involving extensive matting, particularly where a dog requires an intensive first-time or rescue groom following difficult circumstances.

The Owner is responsible for providing accurate information regarding the dog's coat condition when requesting or booking an Appointment .If the dog's coat condition is materially different from the information provided, or is beyond what the Groomer is currently able to accept safely and appropriately, the Groomer may refuse or discontinue the Appointment.

Where the requested grooming style cannot be achieved due to the dog's coat condition, including matting, the Groomer will determine the most appropriate approach based on the dog's coat condition, welfare and the feasibility of safely carrying out the groom. In cases of matting specifically, the Groomer may need to remove the matted coat, including by clipping the coat, rather than carrying out the style originally requested by the Owner. The Groomer will aim to inform the Owner of such conditions following inspection of the dog's coat at drop-off or, where necessary, by contacting the Owner by telephone during the Appointment to inform them of any significant change to the requested grooming style, such as full clipping instead of scissor work in cases of matting.

7. Fleas, Parasites and Transmissible Conditions

Dogs with infestations or transmissible skin conditions will not be accepted until the relevant condition has been appropriately treated and resolved.By booking or attending an Appointment, the Owner confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, the dog does not have:

•fleas;

•lice;

•mites or mange;

•ringworm; and/or

•any other contagious or transmissible skin condition or parasite.

If a dog is found, or reasonably suspected, to have any such condition or parasite, the Appointment may be refused or stopped immediately.

Where the Owner brings a dog to an Appointment while knowing, or having failed to disclose information reasonably known to the Owner, that the dog has a contagious or transmissible condition or parasite, the Owner may be held responsible, to the extent permitted by applicable law, for reasonable and directly resulting costs incurred by the Groomer as a result.

8. Veterinary Emergencies and Liability

The Owner should provide the name and contact details of their preferred veterinarian when booking an Appointment in the Request to Book a Free Appointment.

If no preferred veterinarian is indicated and veterinary assistance is required during an emergency, depending on the availability, the default veterinary clinic is:

Centre vétérinaire BeVet Boitsfort

Av. de la Forêt 200, 1000 Brussels

In the event of a veterinary emergency, the Groomer will not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment. The Groomer's actions will be limited to seeking appropriate veterinary assistance, transporting the dog to a veterinary clinic, contacting the Owner, and taking any other immediate and reasonable steps that a reasonably prudent person may take in the circumstances to protect the dog's welfare while veterinary assistance is being obtained.

Where reasonably possible, the Groomer will attempt to contact the Owner before seeking veterinary assistance. However, where the Groomer reasonably considers that immediate veterinary assistance is necessary for the dog's welfare and the Owner cannot be contacted prior, the Groomer may seek veterinary assistance that the Groomer reasonably considers necessary in the circumstances and inform the Owner as soon as possible.

The Groomer will cover direct reasonable and documented veterinary costs required to treat an injury directly caused by the Groomer during the Appointment, up to a maximum aggregate amount of €3,000. The Groomer shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for veterinary costs arising from pre-existing, underlying or unrelated medical conditions, except where such limitation of liability is prohibited by applicable law.

For the avoidance of doubt, accidentally clipping the quick of a dog's nail will not ordinarily be considered a veterinary emergency. In such circumstances, the Owner expressly acknowledges and agrees that the Groomer may apply styptic powder or another appropriate topical blood-stopping product to the affected nail to control minor bleeding.

9. Owner Information and Liability

The Owner is responsible for ensuring that all information provided to the Groomer is accurate, complete and up to date. The Owner is responsible for providing the Groomer with a correct and current telephone number when booking the Appointment or, at the latest, at drop-off, and should remain reasonably reachable on that number during the Appointment.

The Owner must disclose information reasonably relevant to the safe handling and grooming of the dog, including information relating to:

•the dog's health or physical condition;

•the dog's coat condition;

•the dog's behaviour and temperament;

•previous grooming experiences;

•known sensitivities or handling difficulties; and/or

•any other circumstances reasonably likely to affect the safety or provision of the grooming service.

The Owner is responsible for informing the Groomer of any material changes to this information before the Appointment.

The Owner confirms that they are the dog's owner or are otherwise authorised by the dog's owner to arrange the Appointment and agree to these Terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Owner shall be responsible for direct, reasonable and documented losses, costs or injuries directly resulting from materially inaccurate, incomplete or undisclosed information provided by the Owner, where the Owner knew, or could reasonably have been expected to know, that such information was relevant to the safe provision of the grooming service. The Owner's total aggregate liability arising under this provision shall be limited to €3,000 per Appointment. The Owner shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses. The Owner shall not be responsible for ordinary risks associated with the Groomer handling and grooming the dog, including accidental damage to the Groomer's equipment or property occurring during the normal course of the Appointment.

10. Right to Refuse, Postpone or Stop an Appointment

The Groomer reserves the right to refuse, postpone or discontinue an Appointment where reasonably necessary for the safety or wellbeing of the dog, the Groomer or any other person.

This may include, without limitation, situations where:

•the dog is excessively stressed or distressed;

•continuing the groom would negatively affect the dog's welfare;

•the dog displays behaviour that creates a significant safety risk;

•the dog has, or is reasonably suspected to have, a contagious condition or parasite;

•the dog has extensive matting or coat neglect that the Groomer is currently unable to accept;

•materially inaccurate or incomplete information was provided when booking; and/or

•the Groomer reasonably considers that the Appointment cannot be safely or appropriately completed.

The Groomer may determine, in the circumstances, that a groom should not be completed where continuing would not be in the dog's best interests.

11. Nature and Limitations of the Appointments

The Appointments are offered free of charge as practice appointments and allow the Groomer to gain experience with various coat types, breeds and grooming styles.

As the Appointments form part of the Groomer's ongoing professional development, the Owner understands and acknowledges that the Groomer is continuing to develop and refine her grooming skills and experience. This may therefore affect both the duration of the Appointment and the final grooming result.

The Owner acknowledges that while the Groomer will exercise her best reasonable efforts, the Groomer does not guarantee a particular grooming result or that the final result will be identical to any photograph, portfolio image, reference image or previous groom.The grooming service is not a veterinary service and does not replace veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment. The Groomer does not diagnose medical conditions.

If the Groomer observes a condition that appears to require veterinary attention, the Groomer may inform the Owner and recommend that the Owner seek advice from a qualified veterinarian.

The Groomer cannot guarantee that a particular grooming result will be achieved. The final result may depend on factors including the dog's breed, coat type, coat condition, behaviour, tolerance of grooming and the amount of time reasonably available to complete the groom.

12. Cancellation and No-Shows

As the Groomer offers a limited number of free practice Appointments, the Owner should provide reasonable notice if they are unable to attend an Appointment.

If the Owner wishes to cancel or reschedule an Appointment, the Owner should notify the Groomer as soon as reasonably possible.If the Owner fails to attend an Appointment without providing notice, or decline repeatedly cancels Appointments at short notice, the Groomer reserves the right to future booking requests from the Owner.The Groomer reserves the right, at her sole discretion, to cancel an Appointment. Where an Appointment is cancelled by the Groomer, the Groomer will inform the Owner as soon as possible and propose an alternative Appointment slot as soon as reasonably possible, subject to availability.

13. Collection of the Dog

The Owner will be informed when the groom is approaching completion and when the dog is ready to be collected. The Owner agrees to collect the dog no later than 30 minutes after being informed that the Appointment has been completed.

If the Owner is unable to collect the dog within this period, the Owner should inform the Groomer as soon as possible.

Subject to the Groomer's availability and the circumstances at the time, the Groomer may keep the dog safely in a crate until collection and will provide the dog with access to water.

If the Owner has not collected the dog within 2 hours after being informed that the Appointment has been completed, the Groomer may, where reasonably necessary for the dog's welfare, take the dog for a walk or otherwise take reasonable steps to provide for the dog's immediate care while awaiting collection.

If the Owner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 2 hours after the Groomer has first attempted to contact the Owner regarding completion of the groom, and the dog remains uncollected, the Groomer may make reasonable arrangements for the dog's temporary overnight care, including arranging for the dog to stay with an appropriate person or facility, where the Groomer reasonably considers this necessary for the dog's welfare.

14. Dissatisfaction with the Grooming Result

If the Owner is dissatisfied with the grooming result, the Owner should notify the Groomer within 3 days of the Appointment and explain the reason for the dissatisfaction.

The Groomer will use reasonable efforts to rectify the matter to the extent reasonably possible, taking into account the dog's coat condition, the time elapsed since the Appointment, the dog's welfare and tolerance of further grooming, and the nature of the concern.

15. Photography and Portfolio Use

The Groomer may take photographs and/or videos of the dog before, during or after the Appointment for grooming records and professional development purposes.

The Owner expressly consents to and authorises the Groomer to take and use photographs or videos of the dog for the Groomer's portfolio, Website, social media and other promotional purposes.

The Groomer shall not be responsible for pre-existing conditions, underlying health conditions or other circumstances affecting the dog that were not caused by the Groomer, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

The Groomer's decision to stop or modify a groom for reasons relating to the dog's safety or wellbeing shall not, by itself, constitute a failure to provide the grooming service.
